    Available Factions and Positions Thereof

Post by Spica Tsukino on Tue May 28, 2013 7:14 pm

Being that Astral Academy is such a large source of education intended for a large number of students it is divided properly into varying groups/clubs that help encourage a more livelier, diversified and productive atmosphere. Below are a list of varying "Factions" and the Positions (if any) available in each. These positions can be held by player characters - they're intended to be.

    Faculty

The Faculty are the academic staff of Astral Academy as a whole. They're the teachers and leaders of the school as a whole. All Students are expected to adhere to the rules and obey the Faculty.

Mentor: The Mentors are the Academy's teachers and most were initially Students at the Academy who graduated. They're skilled at what they do and are commonly respected by the students or subjected to their childish antics. All Mentors have a residence outside of school grounds and in the City of Bright Lights.

Headmaster/Headmistress: Not much is known how, why or when a Headmaster/Headmistress is elected and by whom, but the Headmaster/Headmistress is the commander-in-chief of Astral Academy and is wholly responsible for upholding a stable and virtuous set of principles that Students and Faculty are all expected to follow. Their throne is behind a desk in the Main Office and rarely does the Headmaster/Headmistress venture openly in the halls of Astral Academy. The Headmaster/Headmistress chiefly sponsors the Student Council, though rarely ever making appearances.

    1.

Dean-of-Students (DoS): The Dean-of-Students is charged with a more immediate management over the Students of Astral Academy. He/she also serves as the right-hand of the Headmaster/Headmistress and will commonly serve as his/her agent and messenger on the scene. Though the DoS's authority isn't equal to the Headmaster/Headmistress his/her say is vital to the managerial process. The DoS is also more or less a link between the Headmaster/Headmistress and the Student Council he/she funds.

School Nurse: The School Nurse's job is simple: restore any damages dealt to Students and Faculty. At the forefront of medical research within Astral Academy is typically the School Nurse and they're expected to take their job seriously and with the skills to get it done.

    1.

Janitor/Janitress: The Janitor/Janitress is the custodian of Astral Academy, taking care of the building's internal/technical issues. In every Janitor/Janitress's possession is what is called the "Skeleton Key" and it's the only copy of the Headmaster/Headmistress's own key. This key gives them access to every single room in the building. Due to their level of access, not just anybody can be chosen as the Janitor/Janitress of Astral Academy. Their loyalty as Students/Faculty had been tested time and time again and so have their skills earning them their position. The Janitor/Janitress only answers to the Headmaster/Headmistress but can be judged formally by Mentors and any other member of the Faculty.

    1.

Groundskeeper: The Groundskeeper works alongside the Janitor/Janitress, except he/she operates outside of the building and maintains the Academy's landscape and gardening with no need of a "Skeleton Key".

    1.

Security Guard: The Security Guards monitor the corridors of the Academy from their control room or actively outside in the hallways of Astral Academy. When there's civil disobedience within school grounds or skirmishes between Students they are tasked with ending them using whatever force they deem necessary so long as they don't deal any internal or life-threatening injuries. There always has to be reason behind their actions however.

    Student Council

The Student Council serve as the leadership of the Student Body for the Student Body and represent them as partners to the school management. They often help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social events, community projects and school reform. This doesn't mean they are exempt from the authority of Faculty members, it just means that they have the power to make changes alongside the Faculty.

President: The President of the Student Council is in charge of managing and coordinating the Council as a whole. While he isn't the de'facto ruler of the Council, since it's more open and democratic, he does have a lot of say in its coming and goings; policies in general, usually the one to throw these policies, events or reform on the table. The Student Council is expected to respect his authority so long as he isn't abusing or misusing his powers.

    1.

Vice-President: The Vice-President of the Student Council works alongside the President. While the President is commonly more of the "idea-guy/girl" the Vice-President is usually tasked with the management and coordination thereof. Not to mention that the Vice-President traditionally serves as the President's adviser and handles more of the technicalities of the position. The Vice-President is also intended to ensure everyone is doing their jobs and at a nominal pace including the President himself and will replace the President if he/she is ever impeached or otherwise.

Secretary: The Secretary is commonly tasked with the paperwork involved in the process and day-to-day activities of the Student Council. Their most prominent role is to conduct the Student Council's correspondence, keep its records and make appointments.

    1.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is appointed to administer or manage the financial assets and liabilities of the Student Council. They help regulate and consent money spent and saved among other duties.

    1.

Sergeant-at-Arms: The Sergeant-at-Arms is tasked with keeping order during Council meetings and are authorized to use force should things get heated within the Council chamber.
